Get the neck and back checked after a crash, even if you felt fine in the parking lot

Auto Injury and Whiplash

We examine and treat whiplash and other crash injuries for drivers and passengers in Hillsdale County.

Why Crash Injuries Show Up Late

A rear-end tap or a parking-lot hit does not always hurt in the moment. The neck and back were thrown, the muscles guarded, and the soreness, headache, or stiffness arrived that night or the next morning. Waiting to "see if it goes away" leaves the injury unexamined and makes the story harder to piece together later.

Knapp Chiropractic Center evaluates auto injuries at our Hillsdale office. We are a clinical practice, not a law firm. What we do is examine you, image when it is needed, and treat the spinal injuries we are qualified to treat.

Who This Is For

  • Neck stiffness or whiplash after being hit from behind
  • Low back or mid-back pain that started after a collision
  • Headaches that began in the days after a crash
  • Shoulder or arm symptoms that showed up with the neck pain
  • Pain you waved off at the scene and now cannot ignore
  • A driver or passenger who wants the spine checked before returning to work

What the First Visit Looks Like

  1. The story of the crash — where you were sitting, how the car was hit, and when the pain started.
  2. An exam of the neck and back — motion, tender areas, and a check of nerve symptoms in the arms or legs.
  3. X-rays when they are indicated — taken here, not referred out for routine films.
  4. A plan you can understand — adjustments and other in-office care if the injury is the kind we treat, or a straight answer if you need a different doctor.

Whiplash care is usually built around restoring motion in the neck with adjustments matched to an injured spine, not the heaviest technique we own. Red light therapy and other supportive care are added when the muscles are part of the pain. If the low back took the hit, that care follows the same path as our back pain treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

I felt okay at the scene. Should I still come in?

Yes, if stiffness, headache, or back pain showed up over the next few days. That delay is common after a crash. An exam documents what hurts and what the neck and back are doing.

Do you take X-rays after an accident?

When the injury and the exam call for them. Digital X-ray is in the office, so you are not sent somewhere else for basic films.

Can you bill my auto insurance?

Bring your insurance information and any claim details you have. Our staff will tell you what we can verify before care starts. We also see cash-pay patients.
